Horse By Horse LLC was founded by Stephanie Brown-Beamer, born from a deep commitment to horses, education, and a belief in the power of ongoing research. What began as a single, eye-opening ride with a Neue Schule Verb bit evolved into a passion-fueled mission to elevate the standard of bit and bridle fitting through science, empathy, and rider education.
As an FEI rider and trainer, an “L” graduate, and a lifelong advocate for creating true partnerships between horse and rider, Stephanie brings a unique blend of experience, insight, and rigor to every fitting and clinic. Her journey began when a simple tack adjustment transformed a mare’s way of going—shoulders lifted, back engaged, and tension released. That experience sparked an in-depth inquiry into bit design, biomechanics, and Neue Schule’s approach to bit development.
Stephanie went on to work with the North American distributor of Neue Schule bits, gaining hands-on experience at trade shows, barn calls, and through the Neue Schule Academy. She soon realized that to truly make an impact, she needed to take her knowledge on the road—educating riders, trainers, and horse owners across disciplines.

After traveling the country and fitting thousands of horses, Stephanie pursued the internationally recognized LANTRA Certification in the UK—a rigorous, research-based program in bit and bridle fitting. This certification, combined with her experience and ongoing studies, allows her to stay at the forefront of equine comfort and performance.
As her practice expanded, it became clear that bit fit is only one piece of the puzzle. Bridle fit, often overlooked, plays a critical role in a horse’s comfort and performance. After years of encountering poorly designed bridles — despite clever marketing — Stephanie now carefully curates and offers only the most thoughtful, research-backed brands through Horse By Horse.
